Eyeko Mascara is Back!

After reading a post in one of my favorite blogs, filthy gorgeous makeup, I decided it was time to try Eyeko Big Eyes mascara. When I went to the Eyeko website to check it out, they had just announced that it would be unavailable due to product redesign. Earlier this week, Eyeko launched a line of mascaras which appears to be a similar formula, but now you have a choice of three different brush designs.

Eyeko Skinny SKINNY BRUSH Mascara for instantly enhanced, luscious lashes for BIG EYES. With evenly dispersed bristles to coat and separate lashes whilst maximizing length. Our highly pigmented black formula combines natural oils and waxes with pro-vitamin B to condition and promote lash growth. Lashes feel soft and supple with amazing hold. Colour doesn’t crumble or flake!

Eyeko FAT BRUSH Mascara for instantly enhanced,  volumised lashes for BIG EYES. The super sized brush with dense bristles coats and extends lashes for maximum volume. Our fibre-enriched formula boosts and nourishes lashes with a rich Keratin formula.  Lashes are visibly extended and feel fuller but stay lifted.

Eyeko CURVY BRUSH Mascara for instantly enhanced, doll-like lashes for BIG EYES. The multi-action brush with tiered bristle clusters is designed to plump, define and curl lashes. Featuring a superior curling formula with Shea Butter and Keratin for a conditioned, inky lash fringe that boosts and holds the curl.

The Skinny Brush mascara appears to be the most similar, if not the same, as the original.  Each tube of mascara includes the "eyeko shield" which looks like a guitar pick and can be held behind lashes so there is no smudging. I think I will be ordering the skinny brush mascara first and possibly the curvy brush as well.

Have you tried any of the redesigned Eyeko Mascaras or the original?

Magnetic Manicure?!?

I was browsing the Sephora website when I came across magnetic nail polish from the Nails Inc. London brand they just started carrying.  Has anyone tried this new magnetic polish trend? The polishes are not available for shipping yet but I will definitely be trying them when they are. Now the only question is which shade?

Magnetic Polish
What it is:
A revolutionary magnetic nail lacquer used to create stunning 3D nail art designs in chic metallic shades.

What it does:
Get the wow factor with this revolutionary polish that lets you create gorgeous nail art effects in just a few minutes using nails inc. Textured, special effects nails are big news for this season and the ultimate fashion and party accessory. Choose from three magnetic polishes named after iconic London attractions: Trafalgar Square (chrome), Houses of Parliament (purple), and Big Ben (gold).

What else you need to know:
This unique formula has been specially developed with metallic particles to create a pattern on the nail using magnetic forces. As the magnet is held over the nail, the iron powder in the formulation gravitates toward the magnet forming the pattern secretly hidden in the magnet for an astonishing finish. The magnet is included in the cap of the nail polish.

Tarte for True Blood

When I saw the ad for this makeup collection about a month ago I was beyond excited. True Blood is one of my favorites and I am surprised it took this long for a makeup line to use the show for inspiration.  I just placed my order at Sephora and can't wait! The line includes an eye palette, blush, and lip color.

I haven't tried any products from Tarte other than eyeliner so this will be my introduction to the brand. Once I get the set I will post a review and lots of photos! And if you don't watch True Blood, what are you waiting for?!

DuWop Isla Sirena....

I am really intrigued by a new line that is going to be released by DuWop. It's called Isla Sirena and is a collaboration between DuWop and Disney to coincide with the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Being a Disney freak, I have absolutely loved these movies.

For those of you who have not seen the latest film it features mermaids, one of which is named Syrena. This makeup collection has a lot of aquatic and neutral colors that will be great for summer. Unfortunately, it has no release date yet but I have found several photos online.

(Spray Tanner or Shimmer? Not sure)

I know there are more shades and other products included in this line but I have yet to find  photos of them. I'm really hoping I can get my hands on this soon!

Hair Extensions

Just wondering if any of you have tried hair extensions. I have gotten some from Luxy and Hello Gorgeous.

The set from Hello Gorgeous was far better in color and quality, but I had to wait 6 weeks for them. I know they are made to order, but its kind of a downer.

The extensions from Luxy arrived within a week but with several clips broken.  I emailed them and it took them several weeks to send me clips which I will have to stitch on myself.

I would like to try a set from HeadKandy. Has anyone tried these?

Stanley Cup Finals!!!

Even though I am the ultimate girly girl, I still love hockey. So happy the B's have made it to the finals!

Go Bruins!  Epic game last night!!!

Your Thoughts Please!

I have wanted an Alexander McQueen skull scarf for a long time and have finally decided to bite the bullet and buy one. I am having such a difficult time decided what color to get....theres just too many choices. Here is the website with all the choices, Alexander McQueen Classics . This is a big purchase so I am taking my time deciding. But I think I have it narrowed down to these:

Graphite on Grey

Aubergine on Lilac

Dark Beige on Beige

Grey on Dark Purple

Does anyone own one of these? What color would you get? Feel free to offer your opinions...

My Current Top 3 Mascaras

Buxom Lash mascara has always been my Go To since it came out a few years ago.  I find it really separates the lashes and gives great definition.  I haven’t been able to find another that I like as much but being a beauty product junkie I still like to try other mascaras.
During a trip to Sephora I found two mascaras that were recently released and I couldn’t decide between the two of them so I bought both!
FairyDrops Scandal Queen Mascara

Sephora.com describes it as a volumizing, water- and sweat-resistant mascara with a brush so unique it is patented in Japan.  This do-it-all mascara is blended with fiber to give you lush, doll-like lashes. The unique brush catches even the tiniest lashes, defines, lengthens, and provides all-day curl.
The mascara does tend to clump on the brush so I take the brush out of the tube at an angle to remove the excess. It adds tons of length and gives a false lash effect…plus I love the design on the tube.

UltraFlesh Panthera Mascara

I was expecting this mascara to be really dramatic considering that the tube looks like a panther but I find it’s a very wearable daytime formula. It gave my lashes a very soft, feathery, fanned out look.  It seems buildable as applying extra coats could make it more striking.
I really like the brush which has short plastic bristles. One row of bristles is about twice the size of the others and can be used as a comb.
The description on Sephora’s website describes it as a volumizing, super-defining, and long-wearing Ultraflesh mascara gives the term "cat eye" new meaning. Formulated with a blend of natural waxes, it maintains the lashes' soft, pliable feel while keeping lashes conditioned and promoting healthy growth.

Revlon CustomEyes Mascara

I usually don’t have much luck with drugstore mascaras (which is a bit unfortunate for my wallet!). This new mascara by Revlon was a pleasant surprise! The cap has a dial on it giving you two options, either definition or drama (volume). Turning the dial moves rows of short bristles changing their position and offering more definition as opposed to volume.
What new mascaras have you tried recently?

Time for a Change!

Hey gals!  I am thinking about changing my hair color. Right now my hair is a pale neutral blonde shade and I am thinking of dying it light brown with a reddish tone. I've always used L'oreal Preference ....

...But I am wondering what everyone else uses.  Has anyone tried the new foam hair colors that seem to be popping up everywhere?  Thoughts and reviews would be greatly appreciated!

Birthday Presents!!!

Today is my birthday and I got some wonderful gifts that I just had to share!!! I got several things from Papyrus which is a stationary shop. Two gorgeous mini-votive candles designed by Christopher Vine. These are part of a series and each candle has a different shoe design.

I also got a wine glass.  When I saw this online I had to have this. The store had several designs available but this one was perfect for me. The glass has "glamour" written on it with handbags, lipstick tubes and stars all over it!

And from another angle...

My favorite gift was my gorgeous Betsey Johnson watch.  It has a black leather snakeskin strap and a rose gold setting with a pave edge. I love how Betsey can take a men's style watch and make it glamorous and girlie!

From Victoria's Secret

Originally I was not a fan of cosmetics from VS as I found them to be of poor quality.  I still don't care for their mascara, liners, or lipsticks. Recently I got several eyeshadows from the Beauty Rush line and I am really liking them.  These are the baked shadow singles that were just released.  They are very shimmery, go on smooth, and don't have a lot of fallout.

Clockwise from top: Green Goddess, Pink Sand and Glow Gold

My favorite so far is Green Goddess. Its a gorgeous moss green with gold shimmer. These shadows have a fine shimmer as opposed to glitter which is good for those of us with easily irritated eyes.

I also got the Beauty Rush lip gloss in Mega Melon.  Its a peachy pink with gold shimmer. These glosses smell and taste great, very fruity!

Right now all of the products from the Beauty Rush line are on sale at Victoria's Secret... 4 for $20!!!

Just in time for Valentine's Day, VS has released Kissaholic LipGloss from their Booty Parlour line.  This is claimed to be a plumping gloss with an aphrodisiac effect.

This gloss comes in three colors. Here is Tremble. The product looks really bright in the tube but is actually quite sheer with lots of pink shimmer.

My only complaint is the applicator.  Its a little brush and unfortunately the bristles seem to be going everywhere.

Things I am Loving Right Now!

Not much news here, so I have decided to do a post on some products I am currently enjoying. Some are new, others have been around for a while.

Firstly, I would like to start off with what I am NOT loving..... Snow and Ice.

We have had at least one major storm every week for the past month here in Massachusetts.  These photos are from 2 weeks ago so imagine about two more feet on to those snowbanks with a coat of ice on top.

On to more enjoyable things! This Valentine's Day Stila kit from Sephora is adorable.  The Make Me Blush set contains cheek color and two lip glazes. The blush has a multi heart design with various shades of pink flecked with gold shimmer.  The glosses have a creamy but sheer finish. Hugs is berry red with pink and gold shimmer and Kisses is a dusty rose pink.

Philosophy Bubbly Shower Gel

I am addicted to this body wash. Bubbly can also be used as a bubble bath or a shampoo.  It is such an uplifting, energizing fragrance.  The scent is kind of hard to describe. Slightly sweet, a bit of citrus and berry, and exactly like champagne but not like champagne at all. Does that make any sense? It smells like pink champagne tastes. That doesn't really make sense either. Just go buy it, you will like it!
Hello Kitty for Sephora Apple Balm

I picked this up on a whim since I love anything with a apple scent or flavor.  It's a moisturizing, glossy balm that gives off a sheer pink color. Staying power isn't that great. If you like Hello Kitty this would be a good addition to your collection.

I think I have finally found hair products that I am happy with. I have fine, naturally stick straight hair that goes flat very easily.  After years of trying different volumizing products, I have finally found some that work for me.

Got2b by Schwarzkopf  makes a great root booster and volumizing hairspray. I am trying to preserve my haircolor so I am shampooing everyother day. These products gave my hair tons of volume that lasted 48 hours. I was expecting it to turn greasy overnight but my hair looked even better on the second day. The best thing about these products is the price.  They are under $7 and are widely available in drug stores.  I had been spending tons of money on high end brandname products when these were right under my nose the whole time!
